Outreach
The goal of the outreach committee is to inspire young women and girls to pursue education and careers in STEM fields. Outreach is primarily focused on introductory activities for K-12 students.
Committee Chair - Katherine Morgan
Katherine Morgan is a recent graduate of the University of Utah, earning her B.S. in Chemical Engineering. After graduating in 2019, she moved to Tucson, where she was hired as a Product Engineer for Komatsu. Although she misses the mountains of Utah, Katherine is excited to start her career in Tucson and be able to experience the Sonoran desert. Katherine was an active member of the University of Utah's SWE section, where she primarily worked in outreach events. For example, she taught and presented at the bi-annual Girl Scout Night event four years in a row. She hopes to bring the same passion for learning to the SWE Tucson section and help inspire kids of all ages to pursue STEM.
